Background

Access to quality education and career opportunities varies widely in India, especially among students in underserved communities. While India seeks to be a hub of skills globally, many young people are left behind, particularly in industries like advanced manufacturing, automation, and robotics.

According to a report, published in 2024 by the Ministry of Finance, only 57.2% of Indian schools even have computers, and internet access is available to only 53.9% of schools. This lack of access to computers and the internet is coupled by a lack of mentorship and encouragement in areas that would expose students to new industries, creating a substantial barrier to the better-paying jobs. We organised Sky is the Limit, to fill these gaps and give students both the skills, resources and networks to be successful in the careers they want to pursue, and help build a more equitable world.
